Ammonium Iodide - 12027-06-4 is used in photography, medicinal applications, Iodide formulations. Ammonium Iodide is a white crystalline and can be made in lab by reacting ammonia or ammonium hydroxide with hydroiodic acid or hydrogen iodide gas. It gradually turns yellow on standing in moist air, owing to decomposition with liberation of iodine. Ammonium iodide decomposes quickly when mixed with plain collodion, releasing iodine.
