Silver oxalate (Cas No. 533-51-7) is currently being used as a precursor for Silver nanoparticles. Silver Nanoparticles can be used in first aid bandages, textiles, coatings, plastics, soaps and skin care products. It is frequently used in experimental petrology to add carbon dioxide (CO2) to experiments as it will break down to silver (Ag) and carbon dioxide under geologic conditions.
